Platinum Communications Deploys Anagran FR-1000 Internet Traffic Manager
Wireless Internet Service Provider Guarantees and Ensures Fair Distribution of Bandwidth To Commercial and Residential Customers
May 10, 2011 — Sunnyvale, Calif. — Anagran, Inc, the leader in IP flow-based Internet traffic management solutions, today announced the deployment of their FR-1000 Internet traffic manager (ITM) by Platinum Communications, a wireless internet service provider currently serving all major Alberta, Canada markets including Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat as well as many remote rural locations. In replacing their legacy DPI traffic management device with Anagran’s FR-1000 ITM, Platinum Communications immediately experienced significant improvements in both inbound and outbound network utilization, freeing up extremely valuable network capacity. In addition, Platinum Communications was able to guarantee tiered bandwidth services to their commercial customers while maintaining fair and equitable distribution of bandwidth to their residential subscribers.

The FR-1000 ITM leverages Anagran’s innovative IP Flow State (IFS) technologies including flow classification, control, prioritization, delivery and management, as well as host (subscriber/user) equalization and behavioral recognition algorithms. Furthermore, the FR-1000 ITM can be seamlessly deployed in existing multi-vendor wireless and wireline networks.
