Saisei is a leader in IP traffic management solutions for wireline and wireless/mobile broadband service providers (BSPs), cable operators, government agencies, and enterprises, including education and commercial networks. Anagran delivers the following networking solutions:
- Network utilization optimization solutions, particularly solving peak IP traffic congestion problems
- Subscriber bandwidth management solutions, enabling tiered service creation to increase ARPU, as well as fair and balanced bandwidth allocation critically important during periods of peak demand
- and quality of experience (QoE) solutions, particularly as it relates to service quality-sensitive applications such as over-the-top (OTT) video and VoIP
The exponential growth in global Internet traffic volume is being fueled by continued broadband service deployments, enterprises turning towards cloud computing services, the rapid growth of smartphones and other intelligent mobile devices with always-on Internet connections, and the change in traffic mix from email and other bulk data applications to rich media and time-sensitive services. Industry analysts forecast that global Internet traffic will increase more than four-fold by 2014. To accommodate such increased traffic demand, significant network capacity has been added by broadband service providers. In 2010 carriers added 13.2Tbps of new international capacity, up from 9.4Tbps in 2009, and 6Tbps in 2008.
As is the nature of the Internet, the unfortunate reality is that no matter how much capacity is added to ones network, assuredly it is almost instantly consumed, typically by a small number of subscribers/users, leaving network operators with dissatisfied subscribers and users, the inability to introduce new tiered revenue-generating services, and increasing bandwidth costs. In an environment where growth of quality sensitive applications such as video, voice, and gaming are accelerating at exponential rates with online video alone (Internet, TV, VoD and P2P) forecasted to exceed 90% of all consumer traffic by 2014, the negative implications to service quality and profitability are huge.
Thus the challenge for network operators, be they wireline, wireless or cable service providers, enterprises or universities to optimally improve network utilization and improve the users’ quality of experience (QoE) in the most efficient, cost effective, fair and balanced manner.
Leveraging our Fast Flow, Intelligent Flow Discard, Behavioral Traffic Control, and Host Equalization technologies Anagran’s noninvasive flow-based Internet Traffic Manager (ITM) products, the FR-1000, dynamically manages all network traffic regardless of application, protocol, or format without using intrusive, expensive, and performance-limiting deep packet inspection (DPI) techniques.
